A few observations from 13th September 2020 (National Data) on coronavirus pandemic:-1. COVID19 new case count increased by 93,215 to the total of 48,45,003 on 13th September 2020 with 7-days growth rate of 2.05% and the doubling period falling to 34.1 days. The moving averages indicate a clear upward trend in the daily count. India hasn’t yet hit the peak of the coronavirus pandemic.
2. The 7-days growth rate of the active cases was 1.61% with a doubling period of 43.36 days with the active case count of 9,88,205 on 13th September 2020. Active cases are continuously increasing everyday. The pressure on the healthcare infrastructure in India is increasing.
3. The overall positivity rate was 8.46% against the daily positivity rate of 9.53% on 13th September 2020. Daily positivity rate hovers around 8%. This needs to fall for a trend reversal. Total tests done were 9,78,500 with a cumulative total of 5,72,39,428.
4. The overall recovery rate increased to 77.96% against the world average of 72.05% on 13th September 2020. The daily recovery rate was 83.4%.
5. Case fatality rate has fallen to 1.65% as on 13th September 2020 against the world’s average of 3.18%. It has been consistently falling early April in India.
