I Love Hating Ambanis and Adanis

The appointment of Mr. Paraga Agarwal as new CEO of Twitter Inc. had sparked the traditional and social media. Every social and traditional media platform was abuzz and floating with millions of congratulatory messages with pride. People are talking about the Indian CEOs of multinational companies from Staya Nadela to Sundar Pichai to Parag Agarwal. It's really good to pride in something good which can symbolize the success of the Indian system. Everyone does this, so we are! It’s very natural. But the irony of the whole story is that the same people hate Ambani, Adani and other businesses in the same breath! Isn't it strange to believe? Yes, but that’s true. Perhaps the constitutional socialist take reside in us!

India has over time developed the habit of hating the owners of big business houses irrespective of their surnames. It has successfully set a narrative according to which every rich person is a tyrant and oppressor! Oppressor of people, their rights and perhaps the constitution too! There used to be a similar hatred for the Tatas, Birlas, Goenkas and other businesses in this country at one point of time. Now following the old and grand tradition it's turn for the Ambanis and Adanis.

I personally fail to understand why it is alright to work for others but being his/her own boss is bad? Is entrepreneurship so bad? The irony is that Ambanis, Adanis, Tatas and Birlas etc. along with other entrepreneurs give employment to millions of people across India just because of their enterprising and entrepreneurial nature. They are job creators unlike Parag Agarwal, Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadela etc who are job doers. It's true that they are doing some very important jobs respectively and their contribution to the world economy cannot be ignored in any way but at the end of day, the fact is that they are just earning their livelihood only!

If I say that I Love Hating Ambanis, Adanis and other businesses, then it would be just an understatement. You must know that I don’t like understatements. I believe in extra-ordinary statements! It’s my hobby. Perhaps I just don’t love to hate these capitalists-tyrants but I eventually live for this grand cause of keep hating them until they are out of the ball-court!
