तूफान कोई आकर 

क्षण में चला जाता है 

पर लग जाते हैं बरसों 

हमें समेटने में खुद को 

संभला ही नहीं कि बारिश कोई

जाती है घर ढहाकर।

सूर्ख शर्तें

कुछ चेहरे

बस चेहरे नहीं होते

सूर्ख शर्तें होती हैं हमारे होने की। 

कुछ बातें

बस बातें नहीं होतीं

वजह होती हैं हमारे होने की। 

और बेवजह भी बहुत कुछ होता है

जिनसे जुड़ी होती हैं

हमारी साँसें होने की।

समय

समय की ही कहानी कह रहे हैं सभी

पशु, आदमी या हो फिर कोई चींटी।

हेर-फेर है किरदारों में बस

कि आइने की अराइश से

बह रही हैं स्वर लहरियाँ कई

जो होकर गुजरती हैं कानों से सभी।

शीला दीक्षित: एक बड़ा वृक्ष

जीवन की गति को लोग चक्रीय कहते नहीं थकते परन्तु जाने क्यों ये मुझे अजीब लगता है? क्या कारण है नहीं जानता? परन्तु इसके चक्रीय होने में अक्सर भ्रम हो जाता है। मुझे लगता है जैसे ये शंकुवन का कोई शंकुवृक्ष हो जिस पर एक ओर से चढ़ते-चढ़ते उसके शिखर पर पहुँचे ही होते हैं कि आप सरककर वहीं पहुँच जाते हैं जहाँ से आपने चढ़ना शुरु किया था। 

अक्सर ऐसा होता है कि हमें वो भी याद आने लगते हैं जिनसे हमारा कोई सीधा सीधा मतलब नहीं होता है और शायद यही उन याद आने वाले लोगों की जीवन की कमाई है। खरी कमाई। कई बार मिश्री की तरह मीठी तो कई बार नमकीन या फिर कड़वी। बहुत कड़वी।

सांसें जो

बोझिल हैं अब तक

बस पढनेवाला नहीं कोई

मेरे घर का मेरा वो कोना

जो अब तुम्हारा हो चुका है

मुझमें तेरे होने की 

वही कहानी कहता है

जो कभी माँ

पिताजी के साथ सुनती थी

और ईया बाबा को बताती थीं। 

कुछ भी नया नहीं है;

ना झगड़ा

ना ही बातें प्यार की। 

जेट एयरवेज का संकट

अब तक जेट एयरवेज के सभी ऋणदाता स्टेट बैंक के नेतृत्व में इन्सॉल्वेंसी एंड बैंकरप्सी कोड (IBC) के तहत नेशनल कंपनी लॉ ट्रिब्यूनल (NCLT) के बाहर ग्राउंडेड एयरलाइंस से जुड़े इन्सॉल्वेंसी संकट के सामाधान व पुनर्जीवित करने के लिए सभी संभावित विकल्पों की खोज कर रहे थे। हालाँकि ये सभी प्रयास असफल होते दिख रहे हैं। आज के दिनांक में कर्मचारियों के वेतन, ऑपरेटिंग लेनदारों और ॠणदाताओं के बकाया सहित जेट एयरवेज का कुल कर्ज लगभग ₹ 15,000 करोड़ है। उम्मीद यह है कि यदि यह मामला एनसीएलटी में जाता है, तो ॠणदाताओं को उनके कुल देय ₹ 8,400 करोड़ में से बहुत थोड़ा ही रिकवर हो पाएगा ।

WTO Questions India’s Plan to Revive Farm Sector

The farm support plans announced by India and the United States have created a lot of noise mainly among the developed nations with surplus agriculture produce. These are under the scrutiny by the World Trade Organization members in WTO’s quarterly agriculture committee meeting on June 25-26. Specifically the European Union and Australia has asked India to explain the Modi’s proposal to spend Rs 25 lakh crore on agriculture and rural development and doubling farmers’ incomes by 2022 as part of Rs 100 lakh crore, five-year infrastructure development plan. Even the US is out asking questions about India’s 5% export subsidy for non-Basmati rice as well as increasing purchase of wheat at higher minimum support prices by the Indian Government even when India has record wheat stockpile. 

It seems that the USA, Australia, European Union and other nations are considering the purposed ‘transport and marketing assistance’ for agriculture as an export subsidy and these countries are of view that after the implementation of this plan, India will breach the allowed ‘product specific’ ceiling of 5% of the value of production. These countries think that India’s plan is a trade-distorting subsidy with goal to dump its surplus stock in foreign markets. They fear that it will have negative impact on competitors in international market. So they want every detail of this purposed plan as the WTO has strict rules about the size and nature of payments.

The Irony of Being Mamata Banerjee

There is so much fury about the protesting doctors. Everyone is out to educate them, ignoring everything relating to this protest. Before anything is said fact must be presented. While treatment, an old man of the age of more than 80 years died few days back. This made the relatives of the patient furious and they termed this death as medical negligence. Previously there had been a lot of reports about medical negligence though most of these never were confirmed or backed by a proper enquiry (this does not make doctors sacred cow). However, in this case too without any enquiry, it was termed as medical negligence by a mob. And surprising fact is that none is asking any real questions to none, doctors and hospital administration, the judges in the mob and the West Bengal government. This is the irony.
